Each piece of Ibo silver jewellery is beautifully handcrafted using ancient techniques by the silver artisans of Ilha do Ibo. Ibo's centuries old silver tradition continues today, with fathers passing on their craft to sons.

There are about 40 silversmiths on the island, many of whom work out of Ibo’s 17th century star-shaped fort. Each silversmith painstakingly creates each jewellery piece by hand.

And while in the past silver artisans used to melt down colonial era silver coins to make their pieces, today Ibo silver jewellery is made using only sterling silver.
